i actually completed this project and took the pics a couple weeks ago but am just getting around to posting. here's the redo on our entry hall. as a reminder, the before:

tragic 80s light fixture and blank boring neutrality. plus ugly brown floor tile!

seriously that light fixture is horrendous.
first i bought a huge round rug to cover as much of the floor tile as possible, and then bought and
re-covered a gossip bench to place alongside the wall for dropping keys & cell phones on and for putting on/taking off shoes.

then recently i replaced the light fixture (hallelujah) and finally hung some art on the wall. (also cleaned and repaired the doorbell.) i still need to hang casing trim around the closet doors, but so far it's looking pretty good.

the new light fixture is from schoolhouse electric, and it is gorgeous!!
