very fun race today! it was colder than i was expecting and i should have worn my gloves, but my hands did eventually thaw out (around mile 3ish i think). looking back, i think it was actually colder this year than at last year's race. but last year we were still tight in the grasp of an icy winter, and getting around central park that day was like being in the ice capades (as someone wittier than i phrased it).
last year i finished in 35:05 with a pace per mile of 8:46.
this year i finished in 32:12 with a pace per mile of 8:03. new personal record! and a new bib pace (by a whopping 2 seconds, but still). YAY!
now if the giants win the superbowl, my day will be complete. :)
What a fabulous day, sealed up with a Giants win! Woot woot!
ReplyDeleteWhat's a bib pace? Is it like a race pace? I googled it, but all I got was "did you mean Bob Pace?" FYI - Bob Pace is a boxer and/or band.
PS - Your running the Gridiron really wore Beans out!
ReplyDeletebib pace is the fastest per-mile pace you've run in a race of at least 3 miles. NYRR (organizer of most of the races i do) uses it to space out runners at the start. faster people in front, slower people at the back.
